Our Story

Wild Orchid Candles is a woman owned company founded by Sherry Owens Thompson, an entrepreneur and a passionate candle and orchid lover. Wild Orchid was started as a desire to share my passions and my love of nature.  I’ve always been in awe of the inherent beauty found in nature and the unique scents associated with most things; fresh picked rosemary from the garden or the ozonic cool-airy smell after a rainstorm.

Through candle making I have been able to capture those small aromatics notes which conjure up fond memories, evoke powerful emotions or gently soothes you.  I want your candle burning experience to become an anticipated ritual of relaxation and mindful meditation. 

We offer custom blended scented candles housed in unique containers, in a variety of materials, colors and finishes enhancing any setting. Our candles are made from naturally derived eco-friendly blends of pure Soy or Coconut Apricot Creme wax.  We use both natural cotton and wooden wicks to enhance the burn of our candles.  Each is thoughtfully hand-poured and crafted in small batches with you in mind.  Our phthalate free fragrance oils are distinctive, sophisticated, and created using fine fragrance and essential oils.  All our containers are uniquely selected to be repurposed as either glassware, decorative bowls, planters or whatever you can dream of. We believe in Reducing, Reusing and Recycling.
